Mental Health Practitioner:

Children's Mental Health Services is expanding its case management and CTSS school based and community programming in the Itasca County area.

This position offers:

  • Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of child therapists, school staff, county workers and other mental health professionals.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Individual and group skills training, crisis intervention, case management, client advocacy, prevention, and education.
  • Clinical documentation of mental health service provided to client
  • Attending and participating in individual or group clinical supervision
  • Coordination with parent, guardian, care giver, and collaborative partners

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in the human services field with 2000 hours of supervised mental health work experience or 6000 hours of supervised mental health work experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Mental Health Clinician:


Children’s Mental Health Services is seeking mental health clinician to provide support and direction to children and families that are experiencing mental health obstacles in their life. Children’s Mental Health is recognized as an Approved National Health Corps Site.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Carrying psychotherapy caseload as defined by clinic
  • The provision of clinical services including conducting diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and discharge planning for patients of the clinic
  • Provision of clinical supervision within the clinic’s training program – if credentials allow
  • Ensuring documentation is consistent with managed care contracts and the professional standard and managed care contracts
  • Attending and participating in individual supervision, monthly case consultation, and other meetings as required by CMHS
  • Compliance with clinic documentation standards
  • Compliance with licensing board rules and APA, ACA, NASW, and / or AAMFT Codes of Ethics
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions with staff, patients, and business associates of clinic
  • Keeping abreast of billing issues and discussing same with patients when necessary
  • Assisting in intermittent peer-reviews of patient files
  • Adherence to directives by applicable direct clinical and administrative supervisors
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • A master’s or doctoral degree in Psychology, Clinical Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Social Work from an accredited academic program. Licensed or ability to be licensed by appropriate board.
  • Ability and willingness to service patients on an outpatient basis (with some services done in-home, in schools, or in the community as cases demand)
  • Evidence of a high level of professionalism within the field
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to provide services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, groups, or families
  • Ability to respect diversity and integrate issues of culture into case conceptualizations
  • Ability to adapt interventions to patients’ strengths, skills, and developmental levels to protect patient safety
  • Commitment to empowering patients to solve their own problems when necessary
  • Ability to set appropriate boundaries and limits for best practice
  • Ability to comply with clinic documentation standards
  • Ability to maintain a full caseload as defined by clinic
